Joining, rescheduling and cancelling
When the join link opens and closes, what happens if nobody clicks anything, and how much of your money comes back if you cancel.
Three things about a booked session surprise people, and all three are about timing: when you can join, what happens if nobody confirms anything afterwards, and how much money comes back if you cancel.
The join window#

The join link opens 10 minutes before the scheduled start. Before that it is visible but not active - there is nothing to click into yet.

It stays usable until 15 minutes after the scheduled end. A session that overruns is normal, and a 62-minute call should not be recorded as one you joined after it finished.

After that the link closes. The booking moves on to the attendance step below.
What happens after the session ends#
Both people have 24 hours after the scheduled end to confirm the session happened or report that it did not. If nobody does anything, the booking completes automatically.
That is deliberate. The overwhelmingly common case is that the session happened, nobody clicks anything, and completing is the correct outcome. A shorter window would turn ordinary inattention into a dispute; a longer one would hold the mentor's payment open for no reason.
Cancelling, and what you get back#
How much comes back depends on how long before the session you cancel and which kind of session it is. The service types run different ladders.

The ladder that applies to your booking is the one that was in force when you paid, and your booking page states it.
Rescheduling#
Rescheduling is a cancellation and a new booking, so the same ladder applies to the part being cancelled. If you know a time will not work, moving it early costs you nothing on an hourly session and 10% on a mock interview - and moving it two hours beforehand costs everything on either.
