When you get paid

The stages between a completed session and money in your account, why there is a deliberate wait, and what each status on the Earnings page means.

A buyer paying is not the same event as you being paid, and the gap between them is deliberate. Your Earnings page shows exactly where each amount is.

The stages#

  1. Awaiting session. Paid for, not yet delivered. Nothing is owed to you until it happens.
  2. In the dispute window. Delivered, and the period in which a problem can still be raised is running. This is the wait people ask about - see below.
  3. Clearing. The window has passed and the amount is ready to be processed.
  4. In progress. The transfer to your bank has been initiated.
  5. Paid. In your account.

Three other statuses appear when something is not on the normal path:

StatusWhat it means
On holdSomething is unresolved - most often a mock interview report past its deadline, or an open dispute.
Needs attentionWe need something from you, usually on your payout account.
FailedThe transfer was attempted and rejected. See payout accounts.

Why the wait#

A dispute can be raised for 14 days after a booking closes. Paying out immediately would mean recovering money from mentors after the fact - which is worse for you than waiting, not better.

What holds a payout#

  • An unfiled mock interview report. The hold starts the moment the deadline passes. File within 24 hours of it and the payout releases automatically. Later than that and a person decides. See session feedback.
  • An open dispute on that booking.
  • A payout account that is missing or has failed verification.

Packages are not on this ladder in the way you would expect#

A package purchase does not produce one payout. Each redemption releases its own slice, and each slice then travels these stages independently.

So a ₹10,000 package can be fully paid by the buyer while almost none of it is anywhere near your bank - and that is correct. Package earnings explains it.
