Projects on your profile
Two different things are called projects - ones you write about, and code projects you publish. What each does on your page.
Two separate things reach the projects section of your profile, and mixing them up is the usual confusion.

Profile projects#
An entry you write, for work that has no code to show or lives somewhere else - a design, a paper, a product you shipped at a job, an open-source contribution.
Each takes a description, links, and media you upload. Media is worth adding where the work is visual; a screenshot does more than a paragraph for anything with an interface.
Published code projects#
A project from the code workspace set to public appears on your profile automatically, with its files browsable.
Turning the section off#
The projects section has its own toggle. Off, none of it renders - useful when you have code projects that are public for a link but that you do not want leading your profile.

Which to use#
Use a profile project when the point is the outcome, and a code project when the point is the code. A recruiter reads the first; an engineer evaluating you reads the second.
