Free Indian Salary & Tax Calculators

Every calculator here runs entirely in your browser: no salary figure you type is ever sent to a server, and the pages work offline. Tax slabs, cess, surcharge and statutory caps are versioned by assessment year, and the year used is printed next to the number - not in a footnote.

  • Every figure is computed in your browser
  • The assessment year is printed next to the number
  • No account, no daily cap, no export limit

Which calculator do you need?

Nobody wakes up needing a §10(13A) calculator. They need to know how much of their rent is exempt. Pick the moment you are actually in.

Every money & tax tool13

India-native salary and tax math. The ones people open most are first; everything else is here in full, and every one of them works today.

Why you can check these numbers

A salary calculator that is quietly wrong after a Budget is worse than no calculator. Three things we do about that, all of them verifiable from your side.

  1. Nothing you type leaves your browser

Not a claim about how carefully we store your salary - there is nothing to store. Every one of these runs as JavaScript on your device, makes no request while calculating, and keeps working with your network disconnected. Open your devtools network tab and type a CTC: it stays empty.

  2. Every figure carries the year it was computed under

Slabs, cess, surcharge thresholds, the standard deduction, the EPF wage ceiling, the gratuity cap and the GST slabs live in one file keyed by assessment year. Each year has worked-example tests, and the year used is printed beside your result rather than in a footnote at the bottom of the page.

  3. Where we have no data, you get a zero and a reason

Professional tax is levied state by state; for a state we hold no schedule for, the line reads zero with a note telling you to check your payslip, never an invented ₹200. The same rule decides what gets built at all - a cost-of-living comparison between two cities was dropped rather than shipped, because we could not source an index we would be willing to publish with an origin and a review date.

Money & Tax questions

The ones that come up before somebody picks a tool. Each tool answers its own on its own page.

Which calculator should I start with?

If you are holding an offer, start with the in-hand salary calculator - it converts a CTC into a monthly figure and shows every deduction between the two, which is usually the number people are actually looking for. If you are deciding how to be taxed, start with the old vs new regime comparator, because that choice changes what every other figure is worth.

Do these work under the new tax regime?

Yes, and the difference is handled rather than glossed over. The in-hand calculator and the regime comparator both compute under whichever regime you select, with the deductions each one actually permits - so HRA, 80C, 80D and home-loan interest are available on the old side and unavailable on the new, and employer NPS under §80CCD(2) is available on both. The HRA calculator says plainly that its exemption is nil under the new regime rather than showing you a number you cannot claim.

Why is your take-home different from my payslip?

Almost always one of four things, and every one of them is shown as its own line so you can find the disagreement instead of guessing: the ₹15,000 EPF wage ceiling being applied differently, professional tax for your state, a salary structure your employer has customised, or investment declarations you have made that we do not know about. Switch to component-wise entry and put in your offer letter's actual breakup - the gap usually closes immediately.

Is CTC the same as gross salary?

No, and the gap between them is most of what these calculators exist to show. CTC is what your employer spends: it includes their EPF contribution, the gratuity they accrue against your service, and often an insurance premium and a variable component - none of which reaches your bank account monthly. Gross is what is left once those are removed, and take-home is what is left after tax, your own EPF and professional tax come out of gross. Twenty to thirty percent of CTC routinely sits between the first number and the last.

Do you store my salary, or use it to target anything?

No. These are client-side tools: the arithmetic happens in your browser and no figure you type is transmitted to Revquix or to anyone else. There is no account to create, no cap on how many times you can run one, and no analytics event carrying your numbers. The claim is checkable - the network tab stays empty while you type.

Is any of this tax advice?

No. These are estimates for planning, computed from published rates, and each one states on its own page what it cannot see - your Form 16, your actual investment proofs, capital gains, income from other heads, or a salary structure your employer has customised. If a large sum turns on the answer, take the output to a chartered accountant rather than to your payroll portal.

A calculator tells you what the number is

It cannot tell you whether the number is negotiable, which component to push on, or what this company has conceded before. That part is a conversation with somebody who has sat on the other side of the table.
