Running a session

Where the call happens, when the join button works, what counts as turning up, and the reminders you and the buyer actually receive.

Every session is held in a Google Meet room that Revquix creates. You do not paste a link, and you cannot use your own.

Why the room is ours#

Attendance. When the room is one we mint, joining goes through our button, and Google tells us who came through it. On a link from your own calendar or one you pasted, a participant reaches the call without passing through anything we can see - so the record would be clicks on a button, not attendance.

That record is what decides a no-show finding, and a no-show finding moves money. It has to be evidence rather than a guess.

The join window#

  1. The button appears 10 minutes before the start. Not earlier - an always-live button is one people press at the wrong time.
  2. The room closes when the session's end time passes. There is no extra grace on the room itself: a 30-minute session gets a 30-minute room.
  3. Attendance is read shortly after the end, and a join up to 15 minutes past the end still counts as having attended.

Those last two are different clocks and it is worth not confusing them. The room shutting is a resource decision. The 15 minutes is an evidence rule - how late an arrival still counts as showing up.

Reminders, and when there are none#

You and the buyer are reminded at 24 hours, 1 hour and 10 minutes before the start.

Each reminder is skipped if the booking was made too close to it - specifically, if there was less than the reminder's offset plus 30 minutes between booking and start. The margin exists so that a "you booked" email and a "starting soon" email do not land together.

The consequence is concrete:

After the session#

The booking stays open for 24 hours so both sides can confirm attendance or report a problem. If neither of you does anything, it closes on its own and settles normally. Silence is treated as "it happened", because that is overwhelmingly what silence means.

If it did not happen, say so in that window - see when someone does not turn up.

For a mock interview, the session is not the whole delivery. The report is still owed, and it has its own deadline - session feedback.
