Your username
Your public address, the 14-day wait between changes, and why the old link stops working the moment you change it.
Your username is your address: revquix.com/u/<username>. It is the link you paste into an
application, a bio or a message.
Changing it#
You can change it, but not freely.
Changing is never a single click. You type the new name, it is checked as you type, and you confirm in a separate step - because this changes a URL rather than a display setting.
The old link stops working#
Casing#
Usernames are case-insensitive. Priya and priya are the same name, and nobody else can take the
other casing. Your chosen casing is what displays.
That also means you cannot "free up" a name by changing only its capitals.
Choosing one#
- Something you would say out loud. It goes in applications and conversations.
- Close to your real name if you are job-hunting. A handle nobody connects to you is a small tax on every introduction.
- Not tied to a job or a year.
priya-at-acmeandpriya2024both expire.
If the name you want is taken#
Usernames are not released when an account is deleted, so a free-looking name may be held. There is no waiting list - pick another.
