Grouping several posts into an ordered set, how readers move through one, and what a series does that topics do not.
A series is an ordered set of your posts on one subject - a four-part walkthrough, a weekly log, a teardown split across three articles.

Series or topics?#
They do different jobs and a post can have both.

| Topics | What a post is about. Drives discovery - listings, tag pages, recommendations. |
| A series | What a post is part of. Gives it a position in a sequence, and a reader a next step. |
A post about binary search belongs in the Algorithms topic. Part 3 of your DSA walkthrough belongs in a series. Most posts want topics; only a genuine sequence wants a series.
Making one#

Create the series - a title, a description, and a cover.

Add posts to it. A post joins a series from its own settings modal, so you can add one as you write it rather than having to remember to come back.

Put them in order. The order is yours to set - it is not publication date, because part 2 is sometimes written after part 3.
What a reader gets#
A series has its own page listing every part in order. From inside any post in it, readers can see where they are in the sequence and move to the next part.
