Booking a session

Finding a mentor, holding a slot, and the timing rules that decide which slots you can actually pick.

Sessions are bought from a mentor's listing. Two kinds exist and they behave slightly differently, which is worth knowing before you pick one.

The two kinds#

They differ in two places that matter: mock interviews come with feedback, and their cancellation ladders are different. See joining and cancelling for the exact percentages.

Finding someone#

The marketplace lists services and Mentors lists people - both reach the same bookings. Filters, sorting and how the search actually works are in finding a mentor.

The timing rules#

  1. Book at least an hour ahead. Slots closer than that are not offered - a mentor needs notice that is not a notification.

  2. You can book up to 30 days out. Further ahead than that and availability stops being a promise anybody can keep.

  3. Picking a slot holds it for a few minutes while you pay. If you do not finish, the hold lapses and the slot returns - it is not lost, and it is not yours yet either.

After you book#

The booking appears in My bookings with its join link, and you get a reminder shortly before it starts. The join link becomes active 10 minutes before the scheduled time.

Buying several at once#

If you expect to come back to the same mentor, a package is several sessions bought together at a lower price per session. You redeem them one at a time against that mentor's availability, and the money moves once, when you buy.
