Your account
Where settings live, what the four groups hold, and which of your details can change.
Settings is separate from your profile. Your profile is what other people see; settings is how your account behaves.
Four groups#
| Group | Holds |
|---|---|
| Account | Your details, and referrals |
| Security | Password, two-step verification, sessions, login history, your data |
| Integrations | GitHub |
| Preferences | Currency, notifications, appearance, interests |
Your details#
Your name and the information that identifies your account. Changing your name changes it everywhere including your public profile.
Your username is not here - it has its own panel on both the profile and settings, because changing it changes a public URL. See your username.
Integrations#
GitHub is the one integration, and it is used by code projects rather than by your account generally - see connecting GitHub.
Where to start#
If you have just signed up, two things are worth doing once and never thinking about again:
- Set a password if you signed in socially, so you are not locked out when a provider is - your password.
- Turn on two-step verification - two-step verification.
