Paste your weakest bullets and get them rewritten to lead with the outcome. Where a bullet has no number in it, we mark where one belongs rather than making one up - because a statistic you cannot defend is an interview you fail on the next question.

## Why most resume bullets fail

A weak bullet almost always fails in the same way: it describes a responsibility instead of a result. "Responsible for the payments API" tells a reader what your job title already told them. "Cut p99 latency on the payments API from 900ms to 210ms" tells them what happened because you were there, and those are different documents.

The fix is a number, which is exactly where people get into trouble. Faced with a bullet that has no measurable outcome, the tempting move is to estimate one - and an estimate written into a resume becomes a claim you have to defend, under pressure, to the person who will ask how you measured it.

## How the placeholders work

This tool rewrites structure, not facts. When a bullet you paste has an outcome in it, the rewrite keeps your number and puts it where a reader sees it first. When it does not, the rewrite marks the gap with a labelled placeholder and a note explaining what belongs there.

That list is re-derived on our servers from the text the model actually produced, rather than taken from what the model said it did. So a figure that got introduced along the way is flagged even when nothing claimed to invent it. A rewrite of a vague bullet with four placeholders in it is the tool telling you that the bullet needs writing rather than rephrasing.

## Five at a time, and a sixth is refused

The cap is five bullets a run, and pasting six returns an error rather than a partial result. We could trim to five and run anyway, which would be more convenient and would mean somebody eventually sends an application where a bullet they thought was rewritten was silently dropped.

Blank lines and exact duplicates are removed before the count, so an accidental repeated paste is one bullet rather than a rejection. Five bullets is roughly one role, which is the unit most people work in: fix your current job, send it out, then come back for the previous one.

## What this tool will not do

It will not invent a metric, an employer, a technology or a date. Everything in a rewrite traces back to the line you pasted, and where it does not, you get a placeholder instead of a sentence.

It will not review your whole resume. It works on the lines you choose, deliberately - a tool that rewrote fifty bullets at once would produce fifty bullets nobody reads carefully. For document-level structure, section order and parseability, the AI Resume Analyzer is the right tool.

It will not make a weak achievement sound strong. If what you did was small, the honest rewrite is a clear, specific, small bullet. Inflating it is the one failure mode that survives all the way to an interview.

## Questions people ask

### Will it make up numbers for my bullets?

No, and this is the one hard rule in the tool. If the bullet you paste has no measurable outcome in it, the rewrite contains a labelled placeholder such as [BEFORE] or [AFTER] together with a note explaining what belongs there. That placeholder list is recomputed on our own servers from the text the model produced, so a figure that appeared without support is flagged even if nothing claimed to have invented it.

### Why only five bullets at a time?

Because five is roughly one role, and because a bigger batch produces output nobody reads carefully. Paste a sixth and the run is refused rather than trimmed - we will not silently rewrite five of your six and charge you for it, since the one you did not notice was dropped is the one that goes out in an application. Blank lines and exact duplicates are removed before we count, so a repeated paste is one bullet rather than an error.

### Is this different from asking a chatbot to rewrite my bullet?

In one specific way that matters: a general chatbot will cheerfully add "resulting in a 40% improvement" to a bullet that never mentioned an improvement, because a confident-sounding bullet is what you asked for. This tool is built to refuse that, and to tell you where the gap is instead. The structure advice is similar; the honesty about missing evidence is the part you cannot get by prompting.

### Does it work for non-engineering roles?

Yes. The rewrite pattern - lead with what changed, name the mechanism, keep the number where a reader sees it - is not specific to software. Sales, operations, marketing, finance and design bullets all improve the same way. The optional role hint helps: "Category Manager, retail" produces different phrasing from "SDE-2, payments".

### What happens to the bullets I paste?

Names, emails and phone numbers are removed before anything is stored or sent onward, and the redacted text lives inside the saved report so you can come back to it. Reports are retained for twelve months. Running the identical set of bullets again returns the stored result and costs nothing.
