# Comments and reactions

Every published post carries the same three responses, on a rail beside the article.

## Likes

One per reader, and reversible. A public signal that the post was worth reading.

## Bookmarks

A reader saving the post for themselves. Bookmarks are private - the author sees the count, never
who.

Yours live in [Saved blogs](https://www.revquix.com/dashboard/blog/saved), which is a genuine
reading list rather than a vanity number.

> **Note** - Bookmarks are the more honest signal of the two
>
> A like costs nothing and often means "I agree with the title". A bookmark means somebody intends to
> come back, which is a much stronger statement about a technical post.

## Comments

Threaded: readers comment, and anybody can reply to a comment. Comments can be edited and deleted by
whoever wrote them.

**Mentioning somebody** with `@` and their username notifies them and links to their profile - the
way to bring a person into a thread rather than hoping they see it.

Emoji are available from the picker in the composer.

### Comments on your own post

You are notified when somebody comments. Replying as the author is worth doing - a question answered
in the thread helps every later reader, and it is the difference between a post and a conversation.

> **Warning** - A comment you delete is gone
>
> There is no restore. If something needs handling rather than removing, replying is usually the better
> move - deleting a critical comment reads badly to everybody who saw it.

## Reporting something

If a comment breaks the rules rather than merely disagreeing with you, report it rather than getting
into it. Genuinely abusive content is an account matter, not a moderation preference - see [getting help](https://www.revquix.com/docs/support/getting-help).
