# Rating an offer

> The 48-hour window after an order completes, what your rating is used for, and why it cannot be changed once submitted.

**If the rating form has gone from a completed order**, the window has closed. It is short on
purpose, and this page explains what it is and what it is not.

## The window is 48 hours

Rating opens when the order is marked Completed and closes **48 hours later**. Before completion
there is nothing to rate; after that window the form is gone and cannot be reopened.

That is the same span as the comment thread's post-completion window, so the two days after
delivery are when everything happens: read the work, ask anything you need to ask, then rate it.

> There is no edit and no delete. A rating you submit in the first hour, before opening the files, is
> the rating that stands - so open the deliverable first.

## What you give

One to five stars, and optionally some written feedback. The stars are required, the text is not.

Write the text anyway when the stars are not five. A three-star rating with no explanation tells us
something went wrong and nothing about what, which is the least useful signal we can receive.

## What it is used for

Ratings roll up into an average shown on the service's public page, alongside the number of ratings
behind it. Some are also featured as reviews on that page.

This matters for how you should read the number in the other direction: an average on a service
page is built from people who bought that exact service and were inside their 48-hour window. It is
a small, recent sample rather than a lifetime score.

## What it is not

- **Not a support channel.** A rating is not read as a request and nothing happens in response to
  one. If you need something fixed, use the order's comment thread while it is open, or [raise a ticket](https://www.revquix.com/docs/support/raising-a-ticket).
- **Not about a mentor.** Offers are delivered by the Revquix team, so an offer rating is about the
  work, not about a person you chose. Mentor ratings are a separate thing entirely - see [rating and reviewing](https://www.revquix.com/docs/mentorship/rating-and-reviewing).
- **Not tied to a refund.** Rating an order low does not start a refund, and rating one highly does
  not waive anything.
