# Credit packs and passes

> Two ways to buy credits and why they differ - a pack is a stock of runs, a pass is a burst - plus the fair-use cap and what happens on a double click.

[Your credits page](https://www.revquix.com/dashboard/credits) sells two different things, and the
difference is worth a minute before you pick.

## A pack is a stock. A pass is a burst.

**A pack** buys a number of credits. They sit in your balance until you spend them, and there is no
clock on them.

**A pass** buys a period of time during which AI runs do not draw on your balance at all.

> **Note** - Which one suits you depends on how you actually job-hunt

> Job searching is bursty. People are dormant for months and then do thirty applications in three
> weeks. A pass is priced for that burst; a pack is priced for occasional use spread out.

> If you are about to do a fortnight of applications, a pass is usually the cheaper answer. If you use
> one tool now and again, a pack is.

The two are shown as separate sections rather than one grid, because comparing a pass against a pack
on price alone is the one comparison that gives you the wrong answer.

## The fair-use cap on a pass

A pass is not literally unlimited. It carries a **daily run cap**, and that number is printed on the
card before you buy - not disclosed afterwards.

The cap is set high enough that ordinary use never meets it. It exists so that the pass cannot be
resold or scripted against.

## What you are charged

**The amount on the card is what will be charged**, tax included where it applies. Where a
strike-through price is shown, it is a real previous price - there are no invented ones.

Credits bought on a pass and credits bought in a pack are the same credits once they arrive; only
the way you paid for them differs.

## Credits do not expire

Anything you buy stays in your balance until you spend it. There is no expiry window and no monthly
reset.

> **Warning** - A refunded purchase takes its credits back
>
> If a credit purchase is refunded, the credits it bought are removed - which can leave the balance
> lower than the statement's additions suggest if you already spent them. The balance is the truth;
> the statement explains how it got there.

## Double-clicking Buy does not buy twice

Each attempt carries a key, so a double press or a retry on a flaky connection produces one order.

On the international rail the approval panel also blocks the rest of the page while it is open,
because starting a second purchase while the first is live is the one way to end up with two orders
for one intention.
