# Your first week > An opinionated path through Revquix - what to do first, what to leave until later, and the one mistake that wastes credits. This is one route through, in the order that gets you something useful fastest. Skip anything that does not apply to you. ## Day one: find out where your resume stands 1. **Run the free ATS check.** It tells you whether your file parses at all, which is the thing that silently ends applications. Free, no credits, no account needed - [the ATS check](https://www.revquix.com/docs/resume/the-ats-check). 2. **Then run the readiness report.** This is the one that costs credits and the one worth spending them on: a score with every deduction explained - [your readiness score](https://www.revquix.com/docs/resume/your-readiness-score). 3. **Read the findings before doing anything else.** Fixing the top two or three is usually worth more than everything below them put together. > **Warning** - Do not run the paid analysis on a resume you already know is broken > > If the ATS check says the file will not parse, or you already know the content is thin, fix that > first. The analysis will faithfully describe a document you were about to rewrite, and re-running it > after the rewrite is a second charge. ## Day two: fix the resume, then re-check Use [writing good bullets](https://www.revquix.com/docs/resume/writing-good-bullets) as the reference - most resume problems are bullet problems. The score history shows the movement, which is the point. ## Day three: aim it at a real job Paste a job description into [the JD match](https://www.revquix.com/docs/resume/matching-a-job-description). It tells you whether your resume answers _that_ posting, which is a different question from whether it is good. Then, if you are applying: [a cover letter](https://www.revquix.com/docs/tools/cover-letter-generator), and [an outreach message](https://www.revquix.com/docs/tools/recruiter-outreach-dm) if you have somebody to write to. ## The rest of the week: pick one These do not need doing in order, and doing all of them badly is worse than one properly. - [Practice](https://www.revquix.com/docs/practice/what-practice-is) - If interviews are the bottleneck.
