Your result shows your marks against the pass mark, where the marks went by section and by skill,
and what happens next. It never says which single questions you got right or wrong.

## What the result shows

- **Your marks and the pass mark**, and whether you passed.
- **By skill:** marks for each skill the assessment tests, such as "REST API Design 4 of 6". A skill
that only had one question on your paper is counted under **Other questions** instead.
- **By section:** marks for each section of the paper.

> **Note** - Why there is no question-by-question marking
>
> The same questions are drawn again - for your next attempt and for the next candidate. A result that
> marked each question would publish the answers to every one of them. Certification exams report by
> area for the same reason, and a skill with one question is folded in because its marks would give
> that question's answer away.

**Your paper** - the questions you were asked and the answers you gave, without right or wrong - is
on the result page for **14 days** after the result, which is how long you have to appeal. It stays
available while an appeal you opened is still being looked at.

## If you did not pass

The result page says what happens next, from the same rules the Start button follows:

- **When your next attempt opens.** After a failed attempt you wait before the next one - the number
of days is set on each assessment and shown before you start. We tell you by email and in your
  notifications when it opens.
- **How many attempts you have left.** Each assessment sets its own number, from one to five.
- **If you have none left**, the assessment is locked for you. Revquix can grant another attempt in
genuine cases - an outage during your sitting, for example - through [Help & Support](https://www.revquix.com/dashboard/help).

A new version of an assessment does not reset your attempts or your wait.

### The study plan

Under a result that did not pass there is a study plan: a few sentences on your weakest areas, what
to work on in each, and a task for each day until your next attempt. An AI model writes it from your
section and skill scores only - never your name, your answers or the questions.

Under the plan are links Revquix chooses, not the AI: the Certified Program that teaches the
assessment, mentors who teach your weakest skills, and the assessment's practice questions when it has
them. If a plan cannot be written, the links are still there.

## If you passed

Passing ends it: there are no further attempts, and your credential is issued with the result. See [your credential](https://www.revquix.com/docs/assessments/your-credential).

## Appeals

If you think something was marked wrongly, you can open **one appeal** on a result, within **14
days** of it being released. Name the question by its number in your paper and say why - the person
reviewing it can only act on what you name. You see the outcome on the result page: either your
marks changed, or the result stands, with the reviewer's note either way.

The author of the assessment looks at it first. If they have not answered within **7 days**, it passes
to Revquix reviewers, and you are told. Either way you get a notification when it is answered, and the
result page says who answered it.

## Emails you get

- A result that did not pass: an email and a notification with your marks and when you can sit
  again.
- When your next attempt opens: an email and a notification, once, and only if you can actually
  start.
- A pass: your credential email.

You can turn the emails off in [notification settings](https://www.revquix.com/dashboard/notifications) under
**Your certificate**. The notifications in Revquix itself stay on.
